Sustainability is very important to us. We source our cannabis from farmers who grow outdoors and in greenhouses. Pictured above is a grogeo greenhouse at AJ’s, who is one of our cannabis suppliers. AJ’s cannabis is grown in living organic soil and the demand on the power grid is minimized.
Here is a chart that came from the state of Colorado comparing electricity and water usage of certain indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse grown Cannabis. The entire fall 2018 Cannabis Energy Report is available here.
Where does our energy come from in Colorado?
We believe that cannabis should be grown under the sun with minimal supplemental lighting. By reducing the amount of electricity derived from burning coal and natural gas we can reduce our carbon footprint. Unfortunately, the laws in Colorado have forced the majority of cannabis growers indoors where energy consumption for lighting and air conditioning is very high.
Unfortunately, most of the counties in Colorado have laws regulating cannabis grows to commercial and industrial zones rather than agricultural.
